CUMMING, GA - Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation (Sawnee) announced today that it has received a national award from J.D. Power for scoring Highest in Customer Satisfaction among electric cooperatives in their 2020 Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction study. Sawnee received a score of 826 out of a possible 1,000 and was one of only six (6) electric cooperatives in the nation to score above 800. Additionally, Sawnee EMC achieved the highest scores in the segments of “Power Quality and Reliability”, “Billing and Payment” and “Corporate Citizenship”.
“This is a great honor for the dedicated men and women who call Sawnee home each day, and also for over 164,000 members who have entrusted us to meet their energy needs and serve their communities,” states Michael A. Goodroe, President and CEO of Sawnee. “This speaks volumes about our commitment to always put our members first,” he adds.
This is not the first time that Sawnee has been recognized nationally by J.D. Power. Sawnee was honored by J.D. Power in 2013 for Customer Service and was ranked Highest in Customer Satisfaction among electric cooperatives in 2018.
“We could not be happier with this award; the fact that our members appreciate us and that they approve of how we do business as their cooperative makes it all worthwhile,” states Blake House, Vice President of Member Services. Mr. House adds, “2020 has been a challenging year on a number of levels and this J.D. Power award signifies that even in this environment, our staff excelled to meet the needs of our members.”
Sawnee’s commitment to delivering world-class customer service, reliability, and innovative products and services, such as its “virtual solar” program and “billing alerts” program help Sawnee standout with its members.
