Sawnee EMC 2020 – 2021 Annual Meetings of Members
Sawnee EMC will utilize an alternative “drive-thru” format for its 2020-2021 Annual Meetings scheduled for Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the cooperative’s headquarters at 543 Atlanta Highway in Cumming.
Below are a few FAQs to further explain the event:
Why are two (2) Annual Meetings occurring?
Last year, the Board of Directors took action to postpone the 2020 Annual Meeting of Members due to COVID-19 restrictions that existed at that time for large gatherings. Therefore, both the 2020 and 2021 Annual Meetings will take place jointly on Saturday, October 2, 2021.
Why is the Annual Meeting a drive-thru?
Due to the existing COVID-19 variants, and the limited actions which need to come before the membership, Sawnee EMC’s Board of Directors has approved for the staff of the cooperative to hold the Annual Meetings in a contactless, drive-thru format for the safety of its staff and member-owners.
How will a drive-thru Annual Meeting operate?
Members will drive up in their vehicle, and the staff will complete the registration process in a contactless manner. Registration will occur from 8:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, October 2nd. Each Sawnee member who attends will be provided a gift bag and will also be entered into a drawing for various energy bill credits, as well as the grand prize of a $500 VISA gift card. Additionally, attendees will receive a “state of the cooperative” report and will be asked to approve the 2019 Annual Meeting minutes.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Please bring your registration card that is included in the 2020 Sawnee EMC Annual Report. The 2020 Annual Report will be mailed on September 10th to all Sawnee EMC members who are receiving electric service as of September 3rd. If you do not bring your registration card, you will be asked to show identification to register.
