Sawnee EMC Receives High Marks on 2016 J.D. Power Customer Satisfaction Study

(Cumming, GA; July 14, 2016) — Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation (Sawnee EMC) announced today that the Cooperative has received high marks in the J.D. Power 2016 Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study, release on July 13, 2016. In the Cooperative category, Sawnee is ranked fourth (4th) in the nation with a Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) score of 741; whereas the average electric utility score nationwide is 680.

Sawnee EMC, based in Cumming, GA, serves approximately 169,000 accounts across its seven (7) county service territory in northeast GA. Sawnee saw its overall CSI score increase by eight (8) points from this same survey conducted by J.D. Power in 2015.

Sawnee EMC joins an elite group of just forty‐two (42) electric utilities, recognized for their outstanding performance in the area of customer service, who scored above 700 in this national survey of electric utilities. The survey included responses from over 101,000 electric consumers from all across the U.S.

“Being recognized for our efforts with regard to meeting, and often exceeding, the expectations of our members is very humbling – it means our members appreciate what we do” stated Blake House, Vice President of Member Services. “In addition to this survey, we recently completed our own voluntary Customer Satisfaction Survey and are pleased to report that 95% of our members have a favorable view of us” he adds. Sawnee annually seeks feedback from its members, on a variety of topics, and from the responses develops strategic action items designed to improve overall customer satisfaction and the products and services that it offers.
