Sawnee EMC Receives High Marks on 2017 J.D. Power Customer Satisfaction Study

(Cumming, GA; July 12, 2017) — Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation (Sawnee EMC) announced today that the Cooperative has received extremely high marks in the most recent J.D. Power 2017 Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study, which was released on July 12, 2017. In the Cooperative category, Sawnee ranked third (3rd) in the nation, with a Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) score of 786. The average electric utility score nationwide is 719.

Sawnee EMC, based in Cumming, GA, serves approximately 174,800 accounts across its seven (7) county service territory in northeast GA. Sawnee saw its overall CSI score increase by 45 points from this same survey conducted by J.D. Power in 2016.

Sawnee EMC is part of an elite group of electric utilities, recognized for their outstanding performance in the area of customer service, who scored above 700 in this national survey of electric utilities. The survey included responses from over 99,000 electric consumers, representing 138 different utilities, on topics such as reliability, rates, communication, customer service, and corporate citizenship.

Sawnee annually seeks feedback from its members, on a variety of topics, and from the responses develops strategic action items designed to improve overall customer satisfaction and the products and services that it offers.
