(Cumming, November 14, 2019) – Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation (Sawnee EMC) is accepting applications from high school seniors for the Sawnee Foundation Youth Scholarship program. This program is open to children of Sawnee EMC members. To learn more about the scholarship program and download the application, please visit us at: https://sawnee.com/scholarships.  This is a one-time scholarship and is not renewable. Applications for the Foundation Youth Scholarship must be received by our office no later than Monday, February 10, 2020

Sawnee EMC is also accepting applications from high school students to compete for an all-expense-paid spot on the 2020 Washington Youth Tour. This inspiring week-long leadership trip offers participants the opportunity to experience U.S. government and history first-hand while having fun, making new friends and developing leadership skills. Applicants must be sixteen (16) years old by June 1, 2020 and be able to commit to the tour on June 18-25, 2020. Two (2) local students will participate in a week-long trip to Washington, D.C. While there, they will get the chance to see the U.S. Capitol, meet with Georgia’s U.S. senators and visit other major monuments and museums in the area. Applications for the Washington Youth Tour must be received by our office no later than Monday, February 10, 2020.
